GMT800 Uniball Upper Control Arm Out NOW

GMT800 Uniball Upper Control Arm — A Direct Bolt-In Strength Upgrade

Not every GMT800 truck needs 13" of travel. A lot of them just need an upper control arm that isn't going to wear out a stock ball joint and leave you stranded. That's what this one's for.

The FENIX Built Uniball Upper Control Arm is a stock replacement arm — same mounting points, same geometry, no trimming, no fabrication. It swaps the factory ball joint for a 1" uniball and puts a delrin bushing in on the frame side pivot. Bolt it in, drive on.

This is a completely separate release from the +2 Long Travel Kit — it's not a stepping stone to long travel and it's not built around it. If your truck is staying at stock ride height and stock geometry but you want the upper arm to stop being the weak point in the front end, this is the part.

What's Different From Stock

The factory upper control arm uses a ball joint at the upright — a wear item that develops play over time, especially on trucks that see real off-road use, oversized tires, or aggressive driving. Once that ball joint loosens up, you're not just looking at clunks and uneven tire wear — you're losing steering precision and consistent camber/caster control right when you're loading the front end hardest.

This arm replaces that ball joint with a 1" uniball at the upright — a spherical bearing with no play to develop and no rubber or grease boot to fail, holding geometry consistent under load instead of letting it drift as the joint wears. On the frame side, a delrin bushing at the pivot point swaps out the stock rubber bushing's give for a much more rigid connection, cutting down the flex that shows up as vague, wandering steering feel — especially noticeable under hard cornering, braking, or repeated impacts.

The result is an upper arm that holds its geometry instead of degrading it: tighter steering response, more predictable handling under load, and a front end that isn't quietly losing precision every time that stock ball joint takes another hit.

Construction is the same 3/16" boxed material we use in the +2 Long Travel Kit — this isn't a lighter-duty arm built to a lower price point, it's the same build quality in a stock-geometry package.

Fitment

Covers 1999–2006 and 2007 Classic body style GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks — both 2WD and 4WD. This is a direct bolt-in replacement: no trimming, no fabrication, no modification to the spindle or frame required. If your stock upper arm bolts in, this one does too.

Availability & Pricing

The Uniball Upper Control Arm is $800 and currently built to order, same as the rest of our early GMT800 lineup — every arm is fabricated after the order comes in rather than pulled from shelf stock, so build your install timeline around that rather than a same-day-ship expectation.

As with our other built-to-order items, all sales are final once the order is placed.

Who This Is For

If you're chasing suspension travel, this isn't that part — go look at the +2 Long Travel Kit instead. But if your GMT800 is staying at stock height and you want the front end to stop being the thing you're worried about on a long trip, trail run, or tow — this is a straightforward, no-compromise way to get a wear item out of the equation for good.
